Conlon
Finn Conlon is an Irish born sculptor based in London. He works in stone, bronze and ceramics. Finn graduated as a graphic designer and worked in the industry in Dublin for four years. While in Dublin he attended the National College of Art and Design where he studied Bronze Casting. He then qualified as an art teacher at Limerick School of Art and Design in 2012 and relocated to London. Here he taught Art & Design and quickly established himself as a senior teacher at Mossbourne Community Academy in Hackney, London for eight years. In 2021 Finn decided to pursue his passion for, and talent in sculpture by studying full-time at the prestigious City & Guilds of London Art School, graduating in 2023.
Before his formal studies at The City and Guilds Art School, Finn participated in the Dublin15 (D15) stone carving collective. In 2012 Finn won the ‘Emerging Artist’ award with ‘Sculpture in Context, Dublin Botanical Gardens, resulting in an exhibition of his work by The Mill Cove Gallery in County Cork, Ireland.
Finn’s recent work includes being short listed for the British Art Medal student awards 2022, and becoming a finalist with the Drapers’ Company carving competition 2024.
Finn participated in an intensive residential marble carving course with The Marble Workshop in Pietrasanta, Italy 2024. Most recently he has been awarded a Fellowship with residencies in Italy and Ireland with Homo Faber and the Michelangelo Foundation, supported by the Irish Arts Council for 2024-2025.
Sculptural Work
Finn’s sculptural work is diverse in style and focus. He works in sculptural portraiture, architectural stone carving and abstract sculptural work in stone, bronze and ceramic.
